Defibrillation, what is it?
Re-starting the heart by sending an electric shock through the chest.
Why should we have a defibrillator?
- Staff, students and visitors could be at risk of sudden cardiac arrest.
- The best chance to revive a cardiac arrest victim is defibrillation within the first few minutes after the arrest.
- The AED Plus helps you by telling you what to do next and giving you feedback on your effort.
Is it safe for me to use?
- The AED Plus will not defibrillate in the presence of a normal heartbeat.
- It gives you verbal prompts and feedback, you will hear it say:
- Saving lives is about having the right equipment in the right place at the right time and the right time is now!
AED Plus
- Instructs the rescuer on how to save the victim.
- Supports CPR with instantaneous feedback on rate and depth of compressions.
- Helps the rescuer whether or not the victim requires defibrillation.
- The one-piece electrode pad lasts four years and makes electrode placement fast and accurate.
- Powered by ten lithium batteries lasting five years.
Anyone can use it!
- You require no previous medical or first aid experience.
- You just follow simple voice prompts.
- These prompts are supported by basic graphics.
